  • Coming up to the school as a day pupil in the "Hills" Bus or that grey old Commer Van.
  • Some guy arriving at the school in his Dads RAF helicopter.....flash Git. It circled over the school for about 10 minutes and then landed on the bottom terrace, just up from the pool.I know Mr Light filmed it and showed it several times on the film shows.
  • Those school fetes on the school grounds
  • If we were really lucky we got to go to Blundells school fete................... if the head boy chose it as a prize for doing well at something, cannoy remember what tho!
  • Playing in the woods......was it keepers? Thats after we had grown out of the cubs thing.
  • Hot summer afternoons playing cricket on the sports field.....well actually, making daisy chains out at "long stop"or "Deep field"..........Never got to bat........ever!!
  • Getting to wear tight shorts.......mmmmmmmmmm!
  • Progressing to Long trousers in the 5th form.
  • Being told by the headmaster,(Mr Mackie) that there were 365 gargoyle heads around the side of the hall. Each one represented the mood of the headmaster on that particular day.
  • School plays at christmas, followed by the christmas dinner.........bloody good memory that one!
  • Wet afternoons playing badminton in the hall, or table tennis with about 30 others around the table. No bat? no probs, just grab a book and use that instead.
  • Wet afternoons walking the middle triangle
  • "Unfit for motors"
  • Sore red welly mark around the calf of the legs.
  • ink flicking Jeremy Austins Head.
  • Cross country runs around the fields and village, finishing up on the bottom terrace.
  • tie flicking and towel flicking in the changing rooms
  • "Severn" making another run for it.
  • Jumping off the top terrace wall.
  • Helping Commander Norman to pull down one of the connifer trees on the top terrace, near the 2nd form window.
  • Nature walks
  • Being able to have a lesson outside on the lawns in the hot summer.
  • My best mate Nick Duzy sticking up for me.............again. Mates since we were 5...............Still mates after 30 years
